Hi all, I will be getting a trigano 310. I used to use blue calor bottles when we had our pullman. I've been offered a full bottle of flo gas ( yellow bottle) but as I dont have my caravan yet I can't check to see if it's any good. Will it be OK? Has anyone else used flogas?
Many thanks

The gas will be fine, but the bottle may not be. Blue Calor bottles are butane, but flo gas could be either butane or propane, I'm not sure. As long as you have the right regulator to go with the bottle and type of gas, you are fine. If you plan to go away when the weather gets cold, I would use propane, but if like us who only go away when the weather is warm, either will do.

If its yellow its butane according to this page
https://www.flogas.co.uk/shop/category/all-cylinders/page/2

According to this article if your caravan is post 2004 it should be able to handle butane or propane.

When it comes to swapping for a full one you will of course need to swap it at a Flogas supplier.

Not quite sure why you mention 2004. Any LPG appliance can handle either propane or butane as long as you use the appropriate regulator. Propane regulators however will not fit on a butane bottle, or vice-versa, but either can be fitted onto the gas hose from the caravan. My caravan is a 1992 model and I can use either gas in it, but I choose to use butane simply because that is what it was fitted with when I bought it, and if it's too cold for butane to function, it's definitely too cold for me to be away from a nice warm home.

That Flogas bottle uses 21mm clip fitting. Caravan will have bulkhead regulator so you will need butane nut pigtail & 21mm clip adaptor. If you previously used 7.5 kg Calor butane bottle & you current caravan has same bulkhead regulator setup you will already have same pigtail & clip fitting.

As said, the yellow Flo-gas bottles contain Butane, the same gas Calor fill their blue bottles with.

Flo gas yellows come in a variety of sizes holding 13kg, 7kg and 4.5kgs so the size you are being offered affects its practicality, re fitting in your unit. All, as has been said use a 21 mm clip on connector as Calor do for butane in all but their small dumpy bottle.

Depending on what this offer is priced at it could be a good move in acquiring a bottle whatever the bottle size. In my experience, Flo-gas allow swapping bottle sizes in a manner Calor resist, so if not immediately ideal once you need to change get a more appropriate size.
Flo-gas is extensively available if not on our club sites, you can find it on many forecourts, hardware dealers and builders merchants. On line they list the dealer network. Flo-gas also offer a free of charge home delivery service, at least to me.

Thanks all. I thought if its the same regulator it would do as a spare. The oldest trigano I will be getting is at least 2008/9 preferably newer, just waiting for one to come in.
Thanks again 🙂

I dont know why anyone would bother getting involved with new bottles/deposits. Social media ads are full of gas bottles of all types. Sometimes empty, sometimes full. I've had some real bargains with buying on such as FB. I usually stick to propane, as thats what my van regulator is. But once, i got 2 separate 15kg butanes for my BBQ, one after the other for next to nothing. One actually was nothing. The woman just wanted shut of the big numb blue gas bottle in her back yard - which was full! Even though my BBQ was propane at the time, it was worth swapping 'regs' to accommodate the blue stuff. I always look to see whats on offer thats cheap, before swapping at the hardware shop.
