I did phonr to cancel, thats how knew i lost the deposit, just checked and you have to give 30 days notice, i only gave 25 days notice, i still think 30 days notice is to much
Would it be possible to move your booking to a future date instead?
I have only ever lost the deposit on one booking many years ago when I cancelled the day before arrival due to unforeseen circumstances, and did not think about requesting it to be moved instead, DOH!

I cancelled a week on a ccc site after having a heart attack,I gave them 4 weeks notice but still lost my deposit, many sites given 4 days notice return the deposit, ccc sites arnt cheap and you pay over £40 to be a member, I am starting to think is it worth being a member.
First of all, I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you will be able to go touring again when you are able to. I'm absolutely appalled at reading this. Having read subsequent posts and reading that you cancelled 25 days beforehand, instead of the "required" 30 days, surely in the circumstances you should have got your deposit back. I'd ring them and explain the situation again, if they are the "friendly club" as they claim they are, I'd expect them to be sympathetic. Surely with 25 days notice, they will be able to sell your pitch again, with UK staycations pitches are at a premium, we're forever reading about people wanting to book pitches and not being able to do so.
Good luck.
