Topic: Cocktail cupboard in lunar ariva

In our recently purchased 2010 Lunar Ariva there is a cocktail cupboard with the wine and bottle holders. I'd like to remove those and replace with shelves for more useful storage. I've considered a wire shelf insert if it fits but wonder if anyone has any better ideas which are not too difficult? Has anyone refurbished these cupboards? Seem a waste of space as it is to be honest. Thanks

You need to take into consideration that if you trade in and sell the caravan and it is not back to the original spec value may be a lot lower. Think carefully before doing modifications. We do modifications where it is easy to put the original stuff back in. BTW just to add we also think that cocktail cabinets are a waste of space and a throw back to the fifties!

I have a coachman laser with the wine rack. REMOVED.
put in a tambour sliding roller door, exact same colour as the one covering the microwave.
Got some perspex shelving cut to size, and its perfect. I do not know how to upload pics, however if you send your email. I can send👌👌👌
Looks the dogs danglies. So much better.
Tambour door is from camper van do - er uppers. Not so expensive, shop around you get it cut to size, perspex shelving off flee bay. cheepish..clips to hold the perspex in place any kitchen fitter will have. All is removable when the time comes, however it looks the part as is.

Thanks for the replies. We have just returned from our first trip in the caravan. Decided to leave the top wine glass holders in place as can make use of them but removed the bottom, larger glass/bottle holders. Unfortunately these were not only screwed on but had double sided sticky tape attaching them and the paper behind did tear a bit. Some patching up to do now which is a shame as was in good order before removal but the cupboard made an ideal storage place for the bread bin and cakes 😋 so much better use of space.
