Hi,
We have a problem with a leak on the rear of our caravan where a metal strip goes across. My husband is thinking of getting Butyl aluminium coated tape(or flash tape) to stick over the strip as he can't remove the metal strip without damaging the caravan.
Has anyone used this or have any other suggestions please

There is a pressure sensitive tape called Eternabond, see this link it's expensive but very good as thats what it is designed for. You don't say why he can't remove the roof strap without doing damage, I've done both of mine. It took a day to carefully remove, clean and refit each one but I did a better job than the original manufacturer as I had a vested interest in getting it correct.

Hi Dave, Thanks for a swift reply. It's not the roof strip but a strip that is across the back of the caravan over the rear window.
Looking at Eternabond, the Flash tape he has ordered looks similar and is designed for the same type of repairs as Eternabond.
