Are they always at the rear of the pitch close to the back of the van?
First time next week on one. On my van the waste exits from the off side just behind the wheels so I've prepared proper fixed (32mm) connections down to the rear off side corner with a length of flexi hose to take it to the waste point assuming it'll be fairly close to there.
Never needed to take any notice before but don't want to be cutting and altering connections on pitch so hoping there always very near the back of the pitch?
Always been at the rear of any serviced pitches we’ve been on, because the drain runs behind the pitches. How close depends on you. Whether left or right side for you? varies. Most adaptable site had a long length of guttering into the drain, that swivelled: handy with a MH as we could empty directly into it.
But you could just contact the site.... You can’t do different arrangements for each site.

Some site owners to save money have them in between pitches so two caravans share the same services so that the owner can hike up the price by advertising them as individually fully serviced pitches. . If the point is on your nearside it is a real problem. We avoid going back to those sites.
We have had the drain in the back left hand corner, back centre, left hand side half way down and on one site where the drain was shared between two pitches, in the back right hand corner (for us).
Most sites with fully serviced pitches stock the waste pipe in their shop so you can buy more if you need it.
