A few years ago I read of stolen vans being located along with the traveller families and their belongings inside. No prosecutions were made because they couldn't prove that the new occupants had actually stolen the vans???
This one may be a myth but I heard of traveller families found in stolen vans being allowed to stay because of their "human rights"??
In balance though I've had a twin axle van on my drive for 17+ years and have had countless Irish travellers knock the door and ask if we'd like to sell. Always extremely polite and courteous. Never pushy or threatening even when it's just been the wife my older kids in the house.
