Hi there. We have a Swift Corniche 20/4 2005 caravan. We would like a Fiamma fixed sun canopy fitted to the side of the van, but despite contacting Swift direct and 3 approved swift service centres, not one of them has got back to me. My question is- can a 450cm sun canopy be fitted to the side of our van. The weight is approx 30kg so I am lead to believe, but I am just concerned about the weight and whether the side of the van and fixing points are strong enough. Has anyone had one fitted please or provide some advice, before we have the job done and regret it. Kind regards, Wendy

You could use a Caravanstore canopy, the one in a bag, as far as I know the box type cannot be fitted due to the lack of fixing points. If you measure the length of straight awning rail you'll see if a 450 awning would fit or not, I don't know what lengths the Caravanstores are available in. Another thing to consider is whether the payload of the caravan would allow you to carry the extra weight.

We have the Thule Omnistor 1200 that we put on our caravan.

Same thing as the Fiamma but better quality IMO.

In this country I don't think you will get anyone to actually fit one permanently to a caravan.

We have a 2009 Swift and use a Fiamma Caravanstore which sits in the awning rail with no issues.

You are only limited to what length you can have by weight and by the straight part of your awning rail.
