Hi all. I was interested to find out how you hold up your fixed bed to get stuff out from underneath. We have a bailey phoenix 640 end fixed double and the table is under it. With the bed made you have to hold it up with one are to lift out the table as it doesnt stay up. Any thoughts for a steady?
I dont have a fixed bed but think perhaps you could tie a piece of string to it with a hook on the end. Hook it into an eye screwed into the wardrobe or whatever is adjacent.

We prop a broom underneath to hold it up but I have heard that you can change the gas struts to ones with a higher rating which hold the bed up even with a mattress topper and full bedding.
This is what I use, works a treat. Obviously the slots cut must be in line
Prop constructed from 32mm white waste pipe.
Total length 675mm
Slots Depth = 38mm. Width of slots 24.5mm. Ensure slots are not too wide so its a snug fit on bed frame
I have a PDF file of this with pics but can't upload it, if anybody wants a look I could email it if you want to give me an address.

Be careful upgrading the struts as they could be too strong and the bed could flip up while travelling. The broom that you use to wash the caravan can be used to prop up the bed.
