i know this sounds crazy. We are on a seasonal pitch and need to take the caravan to be serviced for a couple of hours. Being seasonal, we are heavily set up in the awning with just about everything, home from home. Is there any genius way of leaving the detached awning half in place with supports so we don't need to empty it and pack it?
When we were seasonal we paid the dealership extra for their tech to come to the caravan. The awning needs to be taken out of the rail and to do that means removing the pegs. What if they need to keep the caravan over night or for a few days if they find damp?
You could just remove it, roll it up and put the poles to one side, rather than bag it.
Dealers normally want cupboards and bed boxes clear so they can carry out damp checks and inspect the gas and water pipes easily.
Ours ask that you remove most stuff for that reason. Post last edited on 08/10/2021 09:54:29

------------- DS-There's more to life than football!!!
Get a mobile service engineer just to check your gas and electric (and your running gear, maybe) if you don't need a full habitation check.
So if you already know there's no damp, or anything else that needs to be sorted, just go for the gas and electric checks and a running gear check, and it's a lot cheaper.
The OP states they have tried a mobile engineer and they are all booked.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
