Tbf Ian they will go for any late model large UK built van as well. Anything that can be lived in for a few years.
What if it’s parked full time on a caravan holiday site?would that be more protection than just storage?
Caravans have been stolen from seasonal pitches on campsites. Also from storage sites. Anywhere thieves can work unmolested while they remove security devices. They will do this with gas torches. Caravan theft does happen. They are not casual thefts they are targeted by organised criminal gangs.
The caravans they steal are mostly large late models of both UK & German make. The caravans then generally get sold & used among the thieves ethnic grouping.
While the % of caravans that are stolen is small if the caravan you intend to buy is new & large then it is of the type that could be targeted if you are very unlucky. You need to speak at length to insurance companies before you buy to find the security devices they require & the type of storage places they will accept & the cost of the policy.

When you say large do you mean the sleeping capacity?or the actual size of the caravan?….would a 4 birth be less appealing?
What model of Hobby are you considering ? Look on their website https://www.hobby-caravan.de/en/caravans/overview-series/ & post up your choice. Any new caravan large & well equipped enough to be lived in yr round will be a target. For it to be less of a target it would need to be smaller maybe 6mtres overall.
1000s of new large caravans are sold every year. All would be considered attractive to thieves. If you want to own one you cannot do any more than insure it & comply absolutely with insurance t&c’s regarding where it is parked when not in use & security device requirements.
