What we don't really "do" is cold. For us there is simply nowhere better to be in the colder months than in our warm cozy home with all our possessions, cable TV, record collection etc all around us. No having to go out in the cold and wet because the water's run out or the toilet needs emptying. Our caravan is warm and cozy on the inside, but we wouldn't want to be stuck in there all day in a cold and wet December, nor would we want to be going out to empty the toilet when it was freezing cold and the rain was hammering down.
Even if we could afford it, which we can't, we wouldn't want to be stuck in a caravan when we could have a whole warm house to stay in. Somehow rain in summer is different. We don't mind leaving the caravan on a wet day in July, because at least it's warm and everywhere is open. As for quiet, well it would be difficult to find anywhere quieter than home. Especially at night here you could hear a pin drop on a shag-pile carpet, if we had one that is.
