When I went to put new batteries in my alarm I was shocked to read in tiny writing ‘not suitable for caravans’ The make was ‘Status’. It was actually inside the alarm.
I purchased a domestic carbon monoxide alarm from Aldi a few years ago and recall that it did say on the instruction leaflet that it wasn't suitable for caravans. I did a search on Google afterwards to find out why and apparently it's a different type of carbon monoxide detector that you need but I believe they were more expensive.
Interesting comments regarding detectors here, but just for reference, all the FireAngel standalone carbon monoxide products (including their base model CO-9B) are fully approved for use in motorhome and caravans too.
Manufacturer had fitted FireAngel in our caravan and I just replaced ours with the same model. It is sealed for life which says 7 years. But as the original only lasted 4 years, I now push the battery isolator pin back in when we are not using caravan to extend the battery life.
