We're considering buying a 5th Wheel - we love the idea of the extra space.
Does anyone here have experience with a 5th Wheel and finding sites around the UK that are happy to have them?
Of course they are taller than most vans, and the door is on the other side too.
Any advice, experience or wise words are gratefully accepted!
We have had a Fifth wheel for over 6 years, and are away every other week and have no problems on site, we are only 7.6m long and 3m high so not a big Fiver (Dreamseeker)

Not much different from bigger MHs for height & length and similar space inside. And shorter than the “horse box” variety of MH with pull out sides. Similar limitations on the roads you can easily drive on, rather than any problem with sites, in my experience.
I have seen them on CMC sites, in fact at the Worthing site I think there were three. All you need to check is the length as not all sites can cope with units over 8 metres.
Thanks everyone.
We make the decision this weekend if we are going to go for one, or just replace our current caravan with another regular touring caravan. Although, I think we've sort of already decided as we really like the extra space that the 5th wheel side push-outs give.
Off to check out the campsites that you've mentioned!

Hi
Nice rig. Paul and Avril at CCRV are good folks, you'll get to stay at their place and even get some towing practice. Take videos at handover and ask lots.
I have a fifth wheel from CCRV's sister site at Wisbech (they do the big ones), mine is 39 foot but not towed around. Any questions ask away.
