How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?

If I was going to spend that kind of money I would hold off until I could get a roof mounted one. Oh wait a minute that's what I've got.

If you mean the type that hangs outside the window. Expect complaints about noise at night from your neighbours on adjacent pitch. Better to have a roof mounted unit.
I looked at those too but I recently managed to buy an absolute bargain, 4 year old Dometic roof aircon unit from a local guy who upgraded his when he bought a larger motorhome. It was complete with remote and working and all for £150 on Preloved. I'm in the process of fitting it now and I can't swipe the smile off my smug face.

------------- Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day,
Teach a man to fish and you can get rid of him for a whole weekend.
Genuinely curious: what’s the benefit of air con over opening the windows and/or roof lights? I can maybe see one being handy in southern Europe but I’ve never missed one here in UK. And do they run off EHU or battery?
We have been in Stirling and Norfolk and felt the need to put it on, but mainly it was purchased for the South of France.
Keeps us and the dogs nice and cool throughout the night. Mind you during the day when it's on the dogs are smart enough to stand at the caravan steps to get in when their too hot.

Our MH had a roof mounted Dometic aircon unit. It worked well but even on the low setting it was too loud at night for us to sleep with it on. However at night after closing up for the evening we used it to cool down the interior before retiring to bed and that seemed to work for us. It wasnt very audible from outside so wasnt a nuisance to other campers.
We have the Truma Comfort and on hot humid days it is a real bonus for the long haired dogs and also us. We used to do France and Spain, but that is on standby at present.
Not very good reviews for Cool my Camper.
