Hi
Just replaced the Shurflo pump and it hums when not running, also the lights dim, I have to manually turn it on which is a pain. I left it switched on to see if it would sort itself out but it got very hot and cut out, does pump now as cooled down. No air in the system, 30 years experience with these, never had this before. Could the engineer have wired it properly? When it runs the Alde pump does as well
Sounds a bit confusing to me because if you have 30 years experience with these pumps why did you need an engineer to wire it in?
You say that the Shurflo pump has been replaced but by who, yourself or the engineer?

Well if the engineer fitted the pump then the obvious answer is to contact the engineer and explain the problem you are having with the pump that HE fitted. After all, you've paid for the work to be carried out so it's his responsibility at the end of the day.
Welcome to UKCS, mannomads.
The installation manuals are freely available online & they have troubleshooting sections - but as tango55 says, get the engineer back first. Surprised he didn’t check everything was working properly before taking payment & leaving?
So 4 days on from when the engineer was supposed to come out and fit a new pump you haven't re-posted to conclude the thread so what was the underlying fault?
Sounds like a result to me. Thanks for the update.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
