Today I purchased a mint condition 2009 Lunar Zenith EB....   Paid deposit, not getting it for a few weeks as the dealer is really busy and needs to give it service.   Gives me time to get a Towbar fitted and to do my towing course.   Incredibly excited!

The dealer, Jones Leisure LTD in Weston-Super-Mare had a number of caravans which fitted into my price bracket and weight limitations.   I spent a long time going back and forth between the different vans, even looked at a few without fixed beds and in the end decided to stick with a fixed be.   My chosen caravan still feels very roomy generally despite a compact bathroom.

I was going to suggest going to the caravan camping and motor home show (end of the month) just to give you some ideas of layouts plus any kit you require.
A lot of people buy there first van and realised that it wasn't the best layout for them and change it rather quickly.
Good luck

Spot on which is why our first caravan cost us under £1000. We had it for about 6 weeks and upgraded and we had the new caravan for about 6 months and then upgraded again losing a small fortune. We had the upgraded caravan for 6 years before trading it in. Next one we had for 5 years. Current one is now going on for 5 years.
However the OP has purchased a 2009 Lunar Zenith EB which is a nice layout as we had one very similar, but twin axle and being single the side bed is ideal for now for him to enjoy many happy nights away..

Our first one this time round (we had a break from caravans for a few years) cost us £500. We had it 4 years, had some great holidays with it, then sold it for slightly more than we paid for it. The next one, which we have had for nearly 5 years now is a better layout for us and cost us £1,100. If we sold it now we could probably get nearly double what we paid for it, but we don't intend to. We will soon be thinking about getting it ready for its 5th season with us. One thing about older caravans is that you never have to worry about depreciation. They did all that years ago.

Best Regards,
Colin

There were numerous different vans with different layouts which I was able to look at, even non-fixed bed ones. The Lunar Zenith just felt right for me.

if you are looking for security that model caravan may have receivers for the ALKO Secure wheel lock. Ask the dealer to check whether the wheel has a receiver.
