Hi, I'll be selling the caravan shortly and buying a static. Is there a website that would give me a guide or book price for selling a particular make and model? I've looked online for similar caravans for sale and there is a vast difference in prices. I'm looking for a rough guide as I'll probably want to make a quick sale when the right static comes up. Thanks
Sorry, no, there's not a guide for caravans (not like cars)
You've already done the right thing by guageing the market to get an idea of price.
I suppose it's up to you to advertise it for what you want for it and be prepared to drop if you need the quick sale.

Please be extremely careful if you are buying a static in this country. It's an absolute minefield. Beware particularly of the site changing hands as that can turn out horrific as the industry is virtually unregulated.
Actually there is a guide for caravans, it's the Glass's Guide. The same people that do a vehicle guide.
The only problem with it is you need to be a dealer to access it, and pay for the privelage.
What I did with mine was pop to my local dealer and engage with him in some friendly banter and ask him to check, no problem.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Yes, thanks. Good advice. I've camped for many many years and know there are a lot of horror stories. There are also good stories with people having statics for many years without issue. If the whole story was bad I don't think folk would still be buying them. I'll be avoiding the larger commercial sites and would only spend what I could afford to lose (not that I'd be looking to lose anything, by that I mean I won't be getting into debt or spending silly money just in case). At our stage of our camping life we are looking for an easier way of camping i.e no awnings and water barrels but we are going into it with eyes wide open.

Not sure which is best really, large companies or small family affairs. The latter are probably great until they get taken over by some impersonal conglomerate who couldn't care less about the static owners.
I can fully appreciate what you mean about an easier way of camping. We have stayed in statics and loved them, but we decided that we would rent by the week rather than buy, not that we could really afford to buy anyway. In all probability when our ancient caravan finally gives up the ghost we will probably rent statics for holidays for the very same reason as you. We are not getting any younger or fitter and I'm not sure which will give out first, the caravan or me.
