Good afternoon
We were caravanners more than 20 years ago (where did that go?!) and then had 4 motorhomes over the space of 12 years (sold our last one in 2018).
But......we're back.....to caravanning.
After many hours of trying to decide on a motorhome or caravan we decided on a caravan (for various reasons).
This weekend we put a deposit down on a 2015 Bailey Unicorn Valencia and now have a collection date of end of March.
We are really looking forward to getting back into the swing of it, although we're both slightly apprehensive about towing, setting up, etc., as we've not done it for so long!
We'll try and not ask too many 'newbies' questions on here but we can't promise!!
It's great to be back. :-)
As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Dealer offers a 2 night stay (to test and play) and we only have Fridays off work. Friday must be a very popular collection day because they were fully booked until 25th March!!
It's not an issue for us really Mick S, just need to be a little bit patient!!
Morning everyone.
We too have just purchased a Sterling Elite 2016 model after a few years off. We of course sold off everything when we gave up, thinking we wouldn’t go back. It’s been an expensive few weeks and disappointed to find out Aldi no longer seem to sell their camping bits as always found them to be excellent value for money. We too are a bit apprehensive about being the ‘newby’ on our first set up. O/H is an HGV driver, so not worried about the towing. Our spare room looks like a shop at the moment, get our van in a few weeks, as our dealer said they were quite busy too. My next job is hunting down sites for next year.
I think you will find that with Aldi / Lidl it's all seasonal, so probably just a tad early.

Agree, our Aldi had (very good) ski socks recently. Someone here will usually say when the camping kit comes in. There’s always a discussion about whether the toilet chemicals are as good as the usual brands.
I definitely agree about Aldi. Their camping stuff will probably be in soon, probably around the end of this month I would imagine. It is usually very good, including their toilet chemicals, which we have used. I don't believe in always buying big brand names, as they are not necessarily any better but they are nearly always much more expensive. I pay for a product, not a name.
If an unbranded product isn't as good I don't buy it again, but if it is I carry on using it. Don't judge anything until you have tried it is my motto.

The toilet chemicals you buy from Aldi are not an unbranded name though as it's made by 'Blue Diamond' which is a popular big brand name available at most caravan and motorhome outlets.
We have been using Blue Diamond for years. Having to wait on Aldi stocks. They will have them soon so we have been told. In the mean time we are using a dealer (local) product. Good enough for us. No probs with either in 7 years or so.

Yes I suppose you are right there, but I was thinking of the more well known names like Thetford and Elsan. Everyone knows them, but I hadn't heard of Blue Diamond until I bought some in Aldi, where we do the bulk of our shopping. We have 3 branches within easy travelling distance from us.

Morning clbewi
Like you our spare room looks something like the homeware department of Range!
Our dealer is setting us up first time on their complimentary campsite and giving us full training (I'm sure there's lots we've forgotten?!).
Counting down the days now and have re-joined the CMC and already started booking sites.
