Does anyone know if the knaus adventure sport Black edition is OK to take to a ski resort in winter.
Or would I have to pay to have it winterised I'm new to this forum so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Or can anyone recommend a caravan which can tick all the boxes for winter sports
If you want a caravan suitable for cold weather use you need to buy one that is suitable for that use which will be high spec top of range with better insulation & heating fitted as standard.
You cannot really upgrade a lower spec caravan which the Sport range appears to be you need to go for a higher spec model which is fully winterised.

I am more of a summer caravanner myself but plenty on here do caravan year round so I am sure they will give you advice. Usually winterised caravans have Alde heating so look out for that but it depends on size & interior layout of caravan you want.
If you post up size of caravan required which will depend on what car you want to tow it with & also how much you want to spend you should get some advice.
I've always fancied a Kabe caravan for winter use, if you Google them you should find a list of dealers but I expect you'll have to import one yourself.
As Billy has already mentioned you need to check what your tow car can safely tow before you start looking too hard, you may need to change your car.
I have a transit custom which weighs 3.2 tonne
The engine is a 2.0 litre eco blue panther engine
At 170 ps .
Cheers rob and Tina will have a look at kabe.
No Kabe dealers in the UK, and you will need a sizeable bank balance to purchase one.

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
You need to check the kerb weight of the van and look for a caravan with a fully loaded weight (MTPLM) less than that unless the towing limit of the van is lower, in which case the lower limit applies. The usual advice for novice towers is to keep to 85% of kerb weight. I expect your Transit's weight is around 2000kg not 3200kg.
Kabe are heavy and probably very expensive but they are extremely well insulated. For winter use you have to consider keeping waste and fresh water flowing so internal tanks need to be considered. Gas supply can also be a problem but I believe you can get a heated regulator to help with this.
Hymer Nova caravans are fully winterised. We"ve had 3 over the years and the build quality knocked spots off the others we've owned (Bailey, Elddis and Tec).
Also have a look at Adria they have what they call Thermo Build Quality which makes them ideal for Winter camping.
We are on our second and never had an issue with either. Build quality is excellent far better than the UK made vans we have had.
