We bought this caravan in 2019 and I know it is still under warranty, but we have turned up this weekend for a short trip and there has been a leak in the van, lots of water. The leak only came about in the last couple of weeks, as we were here only 2 weeks ago and all was fine.

I did today take a look through the roof light and saw that the silicon sealant around the roof that seals between the top cap and the aluminium roof cover sheet has lifted and looks like it is not doing its job anymore. Although if it is leaking here, my thoughts that the van was constructed with a resin seal between the side panel and roof panel.

Any advice would be great, before I get involved in trying to get Coachman, or even Glossop to take this on.

good luck with trying to get Glossop to be even remotely interested, in trying to sort this.
that aside , did you by any chance over tighten your awning frame too much, resulting in pulling the rail away from the van?

G#Winger thanks for your answer, I was not impressed with their aftersales service, I don't expect an easy ride on this either, would never recommend them.

I can see what you are saying, but I wouldn't have thought so, the other part to that is that it is coming away on both sides of the roof, although the awning side is the worst.

I don't think Coachman talk with any customers direct, that seems to have been a bone of contension with many over many years so if it's a warranty job a dealer is your only option, any chance that you could get another Coachman dealership to do the work? The sooner the better.

Dave.

If you had the caravan on finance then you are armed with some ammunition at least because lenders will only pay the dealer for goods that are fit for purpose especially as the caravan is currently under warranty. If you have no satisfaction with Glossop then the next step is to contact the finance company. If you didn't and paid cash then the Ombudsman is the alternative way to go.
