Hi, im wanting some advice please.
Is it possible to keep a leisure battery charged using an indoor solar panel (ei, stood in front of window) while in storage?
If so what size & make would be suitable please?
Have you looked through the previous posts for any pointers?
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!

Hi. I have used a 5 watt trickle charger in the front window where it got the sun. worked well for me with clear windows but if the windows are heavily tinted this will reduce its ability to charge the battery.
Iv seen a 10watt solar panel from halfords but the cable is only 3mts in length.
The distance between where the panel would be in situ to the battery is about 4mts.
Any advise please?
yeah move the battery closer, sit it on the floor on a tray and connect up, or leave where it is and get 2 lengths of cable and join together with the panel cables
I’ve got a 100w solar panel in the front window of our Bailey, I purchased it to go in the roof but didn’t fit it, although I’d consider myself competent to install it, I had reservations on the long term security of it and didn’t fancy being responsible for it coming off the roof and decapitating a driver behind me, it was off eBay complete with 5m of cable and the charge controller.
The battery is always fully charged most of the year but does get a bit low during the winter occasionally (about 12.3v is the lowest and it usually sits around 13.4), obviously you won’t need 100w so I’d suggest around 50w
I have a 100W panel on the van roof, and take a folding 120 W which i plug into a socket through a regulator, into the battery. This setup gives enough power to run the caravan electrics, tv, But we have to keep a check on the amperage, if its cloudy it drops,
