We have a swift conqueror 480 and the toilet doesn't flush we discoveredon our first trip out in it. My husband took off the top cover on cistern area but the board wasn't corroded or wet. He also changed the fuse and took out the waste and tried to look at the pump but obviously until its connected to a live he won't know if its that. Is there a general problem with the 2011 year on swift loos. Any advice welcome as we've just come back to caravanning after 14 years.

Afternoon June,

Is there any noise from the submersible pump which is inside the cistern, if NO noise remove pump and on the underside of the pump you will see the impeller give it a flick with a small screwdriver then see if it comes to life, (pumps do sometime cease if not in use for some time) if this doesn't work replace the pump easy to do.

regards David

Its nothing to do with being a 'swift 2011' model. Millions of caravans have this toilet. As suggested, the impeller could be stuck from previous additive gunk by the last owner, or, it could be knackered. You need to know power is getting to the switch though. If it is, it cant be anything other than a pump problem.

Hi and welcome to the forum June. You seem to have done most things other than what has been suggested by the above on the pump. The toilet is probably a Thetford so if yopu need spares they are readilly available online, (probably cheaper than dealers)

The other thing is, your pump runs off 12 volts, (your battery) not mains so no need to have the hook-up in to test it unless you don't have an on board battery.

Dave.

Frost can damage the pump if it's not drained over winter.
