Wanting to try off grid, bought solar panel, just wondering how much gas I'll need to power hot water (not showering), fridge and a bit of heating...thx in anticipation

Your fridge will need to be on 24/7.
Just heat the water as required.
Same with heating.
When we started going off grid a 6 kg propane would easily last around 12 days including cooking breakfast and evening meal.

By far the biggest user of gas would be heating, so how cold outside, for how long it is to be on and what internal temperature it is set to, will influence the amount used, massively.

In the shoulder seasons our 10 kg Gaslight achieves about a 5-night break, but come summertime when no space heating is in use, we get 25 to 28 days use. A figure quite similar to Dave's.

We have a large fridge with separate freezer, a "tower unit", this uses more gas than our previous under counter fridge/freezer used to use.

After 6 seasons pitching up on grass only pitches with solar panel charging, we average 12 days from a 6kg cylinder of propane.

This is for fridge, boiling kettle and two meals a day. We camp between late April and end of September so not much heating involved

If we are not using heating then we find a 6kg bottle will last us about 3-4 weeks depending on how much hot water we need to heat. If you are only using it to wash dishes then we find it more economical to boil a kettle to get hot water rather than switch on the water heater. If you are not showering then there probably isn’t any reason to use the water heater at all which will extend how long the gas will last.

However, if you need heating, it can consume a lot of gas. In a cold spell, you could use a whole 6kg bottle in a weekend to keep you warm.

You can calculate this yourself. The user manuals for each of your appliances will state gas use in grams/hour. There is 1000grams in a kilo. So from that you can calculate gas use on a daily or weekly basis according to your use.

Ime & as mentioned running fridge on gas & normal cooking & boiling kettle does for a 6kg bottle in about a fortnight. If you use a Truma gas heater say on half power for any length of time say a couple of hours at a time you find you will use a lot more gas than that.
