Google will be your friend - there are quite a few people who have written blogs about their experience, which will give a lot of information.
You do not specify whether the intention is to travel full time (which most of the bloggers do) or live in one place full time (which some have managed, but usually because they have no other option).
You really need to have all the boring but essential arrangements in place well before you start.
First - you need a contact address, even though most things can be done online from anywhere, you still need to have an address for things such as banks, pensions, DVLA, passports, medical care etc., etc.
So you need a friend or relative who is willing to be your "Care of" address, and somebody you trust implicitly as they will be responsible for receiving and relaying some quite important documents, and sometimes have to open them for you.
You also need to consider whether at some later stage you may need to open a different bank account, apply for credit, etc - as all of these get twitchy if you have not lived in the same place for a few years.
Renting your property - another set of rules and regulations to follow, gas and electric safety checks, EPC ratings,. You need to have either a VERY willing friend/relative to oversee
the property, or arrange for a managing agent - not much good being on the ferry to Spain and getting a text from your tenant to say the boiler has broken down.
And don't forget to make sure your house insurance will cover rentals (I assume that there is no mortgage, if there is you will have to have their permission to rent it out).
Plus, your car insurer will need to know - one of the usual questions is "where is your vehicle usually parked overnight?". If you have no usual overnight, then you need to discuss this with them.
If your only income is going to be your house rental - what happens if you have a void period?
If you already have savings, then not such a problem, but you should have something set aside for emergencies..
As said, many people have done this, but you do need to get all the possible "what ifs" that you can think of sorted before you set off.
