I bought this 24 year old Bailey to renovate for my wife and I to enjoy holidays in. It is sited, so no need to tow.
It's our first caravan and we are total novices.
It has cleaned up lovely with everything working fine.
There's just this water pump problem that's driving me nuts!
Would truly appreciate any help. Thank you.
I've never seen a fitting like that before, and I don't think it's age related as my caravan is older. As Marg6 says, I would be inclined to change it for a more common type for which plenty of different pumps are available.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Never seen one like that before. Chances are 'if' you did find a pump to fit it would be expensive due to it's rarity (or other extreme, very old stock on clearance because no demand!), and you may never find another. I'm suspecting possibly a foreign fitting not in common usage in UK/Europe, and not the original OEM fitment.
Probably better to do as suggested and fit a new widely available type fitting/pump such as Truma Ultraflow, at least peace of mind that replacement pumps, seals etc. are easily obtained. Quite common practice to have a working pump and a spare on board, as pretty inconvenient if the pump fails (which they tend to do after a while) and then no water if only pump to hand!
Not any more expensive than present day pumps, in fact cheaper in some cases.

Thank you for the replies.
I have discovered it is a Carver Crystal MK3, which is now obsolete.
I am taking your advice and buying a new socket and matching pump.
I will be attempting the job myself....
Wish me luck!
Should be quite an easy job, I've done very similar and I'm a pensioner. Make sure when you fit the new inlet that it is well sealed to the caravan body so that you don't get leaks that could rot the timber. I used a sealant tape because it's the easiest way but very effective.

Pump is available in the link I provided, in fact they have two.
You can get brand new ones, Whale make a compatible pump.

I decided to use a conversion kit.
It is a truma one and comes with a new socket and pistol grip plug.
A friend gave me a brand new whale watermaster pump to use.
Following the instructions, you are told to be sure to get the polarity right.
However, the 2 wires coming from the pump are both white.
How can I tell which is positive or negative?
Sorry if I'm being a pain, but I am a complete novice.

You are not being a pain at all. If you don't know the answer to something, ask someone who does, and there is always someone on here who will help.
What I would do in your circumstances is connect the pump to a battery with a temporary connection and dip the bottom of the pump in a bowl of water. If no water comes out of the pump, reverse the connections. If that works, mark the positive wire with a piece of red tape so that when you connect it to the caravan you know which wire is which.
No problem. Most things are easy with caravans, they are quite simple in construction and with basic DIY skills you can tackle most things. Especially with the older ones like ours as they don't usually have any modern complex electronics. The Truma pistol grip is good, I fitted one to our last caravan, and Whale pumps are good too, it's what I use.
