your van will have a main distribution panel somewhere.. a place where the 12 volt supply goes before going through switches to other parts of the 12 volt system.. i think you have a bad connection where the 12 supply enter the distribution panel..

when did the battery get charged up last? even buying a new battery doesnt mean that it is ready for the job, try taking it to a garage and ask them to check

check the 20A fuse coming from the battery, it will be separate from the other fuses near the battery box usually in a yellow clip

They've just said struggling with 12v. Are they on hook up as well?? I struggled - especially the lights dimming thing. Which 'lights dimmed' when the positive terminal was used?
