Unfortunately we did have to use Mayday when the axle on our caravan broke. We weren't impressed with the breakdown company they used who sent a recovery unit that they knew wasn't the most suitable for the size of caravan so managed go damage the jokey wheel in the process of recovery, they did replace it. They also took the caravan to their storage compound and we had problems getting them fo take it to the repair shop as this was never their priority. We're still with Mayday as there's little alternative.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.
The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.
Our vehicle broke down while out and about. They recovered the car back to the campsite. They then collected the car and twin axle caravan 2 days later, dropped caravan at storage, car and us home. Next day they collected car to take to garage. No issues.
Our Mayday cover costs us £130 per annum and that covers two cars. They will also come to our home to recover a vehicle i.e. jump start. In the event we are away and I am unable to drive due to illness, they will chauffeur the outfit to storage and home.
Thanks, that is as I would have expected. However, for £40.23 for the year from September last I wouldn't really expect much more. On the one occasion we had to call them out to our car (solo) a few years ago, they were very good. Recovered the car and us back to our home with no problems. Car had a burnt out alternator.

I think with Mayday that it depends on the company they get to recover you as they don't seem to have their own vehicles but subcontract.
Start Rescue don't have their own vehicles either, they use subcontractors. I'm not sure that any of the breakdown companies do except the AA and RAC.

That is correct and all the breakdown companies could be using the same sub-contractors.
Green Flag have their own vehicles, but like the rest of them they often sub-con to local companies closer to you.

------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. There are only so many people in each area with the equipment to do it.
