As the pump is inactive there must be pressure remaining in the system which is causing the constant trickle which could be related to the missing valve. Maybe a previous owner took it out due to the common problem as stated but if there is one shown in the YouTube video it must have been a standard fitting by Thetford.

its probably syphoning.. the valve is may be to stop that..

It could be that there is a bit of detritus trapped in the pump holding the valve slighty open and allowing it to trickle. Perhaps worth a look, you could try removing the pump so that yopu can blow through it, it should only do it one way, both ways then that's the problem.

you have a pump submerged in water.. the pump picks up the water and pushes it via a pipe to the toilet bowl and squirts it out..
all very simple and i do find it hard to think of any reason why it should still trickle when the pump is switched off..
i replaced mine (seized motor) with a cheap none branded pump costing about a fiver.. at £24.99 you are paying for a brand name still it should work even if somewhat overpriced..
i did cut my thetford one up just to see what was inside.. nothing special just a cheap as chips motor similar to my five quid one..

c250: is this an 'older' toilet? Im intrigued by the mention of a 'flush valve'. Do all toilets have one? I had the operation down as 'pump in water, press button, water is pumped round bowl'. Thats it?

Well spotted Mick, the toilet pump doesn't have a non-return valve, it uses a vacuum breaker to prevent it syphoning as trog suggested.

The C250 is mounted outside the tank above the cassette door, the C260 in in the flush tank.
