Hi, I have just bought a 2005 Hobby caravan that has the above water system, however I cannot work out how to secure the pump to the housing using the secure clips { one of which is broken}, any advice welcome

the filtapak is just the cartridge that filters the water in a crystal water system, it simply screws into the housing and stays there until it requires changing , usualy at the start of the season when you flush the pipes to clear any build up. To connect the water pump you simply push the connection into the holes between where the 2 clips are, you can buy the clips as they often fail/fall out, these just turn to hold it in place.

Replacement clips are available at most caravan shops, they are also on eBay at about £4 for a pair.

Thanks, I've seen the replacement clips, my problem is I can't seem to / don't know how to get the clips to secure the connector from the water barrel

You put the plug on the water hose into the socket on the caravan and then turn the little flag bits round until they hold the plug in firmly. Sometimes you may have to give it all a bit of a wiggle to get a good connection but you should be able to get it firm enough for the pump to work properly.

Ok thanks Rob, will give it another go, the clips don't seem to fit over the connector but will try wiggling a bit. Is it possible the previous owner may have pushed clips in too far on housing and I may need to replace them

can you post a pic of what your trying to connect? you might have been told the wrong thing or the wrong type of pump

Hi all, thanks for your replies and advice. I put a little food oil on seal of the connector and have managed to get it "home". Still no water into van but pump doesn't appear to be working when put into water container so assume I will need to replace it. Onwards and upwards !!
