Hi, I have just bought a Hobby Prestige 2000, have now sorted the water inlet to the van but could only get a trickle through the hot taps. I'm not sure how much water has gone into to tank or how much maintenance has been done in the past, so thought I would try flushing tank and system with white vinegar but cant seem to drain the tank. Should I just try pulling vinegar water through and hope the system clears itself? The instruction book for the water heater says the drain must face downwards but mine appears to be facing up, would this cause a problem?
I also have no handbook for this van and am struggling to find one for the year 2000 if anyone can help please

You are right about the drain, it should be pointing down and have a clear plastic tube attached that goes through a hole in the floor. Looks like the tank has been incorrectly installed.

HI Colin
thanks for your reply, can I adjust the drain into a downwards position and would this then allow me to drain and clean the system or are there other obvious installation issues that I need to check to make the system work
Thanks for your advice, very new to all of this and the more I google the more confused I become !!

Hi, I installed one of these water heaters in my own caravan a couple of years ago. With the drain in the correct position with a pipe going through the floor I find that the tank drains easier if I remove one of the water pipes from the tank, allowing air to enter the tank as I squeeze the drain tap. The contents of the tank then drain straight down onto the ground under the caravan. I do this at the end of the season so that there is nothing left in there to freeze over winter.

Best Regards,
Colin

Great thanks,I'll try adjusting the drain and see where we go from there, hopefully if I start from fresh I'll know tank is then full once re connected and we will get some hot water pressure
