Morning everyone. Sorry, I know it's a theme that has been talked about many times but I'm hoping some of you have experience with this product.

We currently use a TP Link mifi with ee sim but never quite get the signal inside the van as we do outside it (I understand why).

After many hours spent googling I found this product, we had been considering the avtex roof mounted system but I'm not keen on drilling the caravan roof and it is very expensive. Looking at reviews, The Trudgians reviewed it and compared to their avtex system its performance was on a par.

Does anyone use this and can give me some real feedback?

I would also like to know more from active user......Of the said device.
Looks a good piece of kit, if only it could be installed on the awing rail!. Anyone got idea?

Can't comment on the specific system/hardware in question, however, based on my own experience of having installed the latest MiFi technology costing over 600 GBP with a roof-mounted antenna etc. a year or so ago for work when I am out and about in my van, is that no matter how good the technology, it cannot boost a mobile signal when there is none, and there are still pockets of signal blackholes around the country.

agree with dk168 I bought a used mifi router that would accept an external antenae bought one from ebay I use visionplus unibracket to fit to the van worked great in Norfolk not so great in Bridlington.

That falcon kit has also a suction mount

We used a TP link for years and always worked fine placed in front window. We now take our 3 hub from home with us and this also stands in window.

If you already have a TP Link 4G router, why not get an external antenna for it if the internal ones are not good enough. We have a TP Link and haven’t had a problem with getting a signal with it on the built in antennae but on a recent site we saw a guy with what looked to be a Poynting XPOL antenna on a very tall pole attached to his jockey wheel in some way. It sat about 6 feet higher than the roofline of his caravan. I’m not sure how much it improved his signal for as dk168 has already said, if there is no signal to pick up, no amount of expensive kit will help, but it is an idea!

So, we bought the Falcon system.

I am well aware that if there is no signal to boost it will not work, however, we have received various levels of EE coverage wherever we have been so fingers crossed it will help.

Setting the system up is a doddle, put the sim in, plug in to mains and off we go.

At home (van is on the drive), we get 2 wifi bars using the TP link, the Falcon has given us full bars. Doing some jobs inside the van watching the cricket using the Falcon has given us no lagging or interference at all.

Managed to get it for £175 so much cheaper than the Avtex system. Off to Dawlish next week - we went in May and the signal was there but not very strong so fingers crossed it will help.

It is definitely boosting the signal at home so no reason why it shouldn't while we're away.

You could also try attaching it to the inside of a Heki roof light. That places it high up, and effectively outside the van.
