Bailey Unicorn. Have searched for instructions to operate the gas heating when we have no 240v supply. Can someone provide an idiots guide please. Everything on Google seems to revert back to mains electric.
Thankyou
Neil
What kind of water heater do you have? If it is a Carver Cascade there is usually a small control box on a wall somewhere. You just switch it on and a light turns green. If after a short while the red light comes on, the burner hasn't lit. Try it again and if it doesn't work this time, make sure the gas supply to the heater is turned on.

Far too broad a question to be able to help you I'm afraid. Need more specific info.
Probably just confuse you more if we throw all the various heater instructions at you that there potentially are!
Need to know MAKE, MODEL and YEAR of heater to be specific. Should be a label on it somewhere, but often too obscured to read easily!
Year and any variant of your caravan (Bailey Unicorn covers a multitude of variants over many years!) is another way we could possibly narrow down the choices.
Massive apologies - Van is a Unicorn Vigo with the Alde heating system. Ours has the older control panel.
I am possibly overlooking that if set on gas only it cuts in automatically but I just need some guidance before I try it.
Thankyou
Neil
When we had the Cadiz I recall on the Alde panel setting the gas symbol to green then make sure the temp setting is higher than the ambient temperature, then the gas should power the heating.
The instructions are in the handbook if you have it.
We had a Vigo, now have a Cadiz. You switch on the Alde panel then select heat symbol and gas. The panel shows the internal temperature so select what you want, it should then come on.
You should also set the water temp. We usually set ours about halfway. We haven't used it on gas but were shown how by the dealership on collection.
You need a charged battery and 12v master on first to fire the boiler and operate the pump.
