The water supply on my Swift Major has always been a proverbial pain. I have to bleed the air from the system every time I refill the aqua roll having first switched off the pump. We're on site now with no running water. I've tried everything I know (not much) to fix it. I've by-passed the inlet housing which sent water through ok, changed the infil hose twice, checked every connection. There is obviously air entering the system. There is a loud gurgling noise when I turn the pump on, but intermittent (at best) spurting from the taps. The water tank doesn't get anywhere near full. I'm thinking hairline crack in the inlet socket. Any ideas anyone???
It could be related to a defective water pump if the problem is intermittent as the impeller inside the pump could be jamming then releasing again. My advice is to get a voltmeter, remove the pump from the housing then check the two brass connectors at the water inlet with the voltmeter to see if you have a current to operate the pump which should be around 14 volts. If that proves satisfactory then check to see that the drain valve is fully closed because if it's just slightly open it will cause a problem with the water system trying to pressurise. Also, try changing the rubber 'O' ring on the pump housing and see if that cures the problem. It takes a while to expel all the air in the water system so open the taps furthest away from the pump first and also to open the shower taps afterwards which is the highest point where water will get trapped. Remember to use a bucket directly under the shower head to catch the water coming through.
Cured this by removing strainer from end of pipe and fitting a non return valve in end of pipe. First did this well over 20 years ago and when lifting pipe out, retains the water in it. Thus no air in system.

Its probably your inline non return valve, as said an easy way around it is to fit a non-return valve into the pick up pipe, I cut the bottom of the pick up pipe and inserted a whale type into mine, the valve acts as a joint
Sometimes, and i dont know why, if the taps are gurgling operating the pump at the switch as opposed to the tap itself can 'fire' things into life. Its worked for me many times when purging the water through. I dont have on onboard tank though.
I had air getting into the water supply from the male part of the pump, it had snaped at some point but was covered by the pipe and held together by the clip
