I have a Fendt Diamant 650 caravan which the water pump will not turn off it constantly is running. I have replaced the pump and still does not turn off. People have mentioned on other posts about pressure but I cannot find a pressure gauge. Can anyone offer good advise as now I have had to disconnect the connection so we have no water.

Kind regards

andy

There will be no pressure gauge.

Welcome.

Details of your caravan are a little scant, like year, which may have a bearing on solutions.

According to the current Fendt user manual available from their web site (https://www.fendt-caravan.com/fileadmin/bedienungsanleitungen/2021/2021_OPERATION_........), your van may have microswitches incorporated into the taps to activate the water pump, rather than the now more common pressurised system and pressure switch pump activation to which others have referred.

That would suggest either one of the microswitches has failed and is remaining 'on' regardless of tap position, or the wiring to one of the switches has become electrically shorted out, having the same effect as a tap being open/switch on.

Generally faulty microswitches can be replaced without changing the complete tap, but that is dependant on the actual taps you have fitted.

There is unlikely to be anything wrong with the pump itself. That said if running continuously, it can suffer damage due to exceeding it's design run time, and if allowed to run dry, again damage can be done.

Fendt is not a brand I'm overly familiar with, and I suspect few in the UK are, so specific advice may be a little scarce.

Had a problem like this myself a few years back. water pump running constantly.
bought new pump! ....Not the answer.
checked all wiring!....Not the fault.
Had a caravan repair man uop to sort out at finish.

The problem was.....A little screw just needed adjusting on the ...Truma Ultraflow Surge Damper with Pressure Switch.
Two minute job!!!!!!!!!
I asked why this happened he said, different sites have different pressure, just might have been too little or too much on a site, to throw the switch out. a few turns with a small screwdriver solved my problem.

May or may not be your problem. just worth a look.

Google..
Truma Ultraflow Surge Damper with Pressure Switch .

Look at the pics second line down in pics oblong box with tiny screw in centre.

Cannot add photo, don't know how to on here. just found the pic tho. Its the tiny little screw in the centre.
Solved my problem.

Just a thought.

If you Google.

"Truma Ultraflow Surge Damper with Pressure Switch"

you will find other fixes from other sites.

OP hasn't come back to confirm, or otherwise, that the user manual I pointed him at was relevant to his van!

If he has the microswitch tap system detailed in the manual, then he is unlikely to have the pressure switch mentioned above!
