Hi any help
I have an issue battery indicator inside caravan is reading 12v.
I have recharged the battery and refitted no different reading. I have tested terminals with EHU connected and disconnected at battery terminals the same reading 13.1 v.
Any suggestions if it is charger ( power supply) or battery at fault.
Or is there an inline fuse I am unaware of.
Thanks
In anticipation
I never trust the battery indicator in the van.
To me the only way to check the battery is disconnect from the EHU, leave it an hour or so then test with a multi-meter.
Far more accurate.

The battery condition gauge in the caravan is just a guide therefore the only way to obtain an accurate voltage battery reading is with a multi-meter as suggested by Dave and Cyn (above post). Furthermore, not only can you check the true battery voltage but also test to see if the charger is defective as well. Do this by disconnecting the mains supply, remove the leisure battery and making sure that the battery clips don't make contact, switch back on the mains supply and test the circuit at the clips with the voltmeter. If the charger is functioning effectively you should get a reading of around 14 volts. If it less than 13.9 volts then it indicates the charger is not pushing out the required voltage to charge the battery. Do the test on both charger and battery and then you can confirm which of the two need replacing (or both).
Bearing in mind that a lot of smart chargers won't output a voltage if there is no battery connected, they need a voltage to analyse the state of the battery to determine the rate of charge required.

Hi All
Thankyou for the replies
I have tested with a multimeter at terminals with ehu connected and disconnected.
The reading was 13.1 v both times. with a three hour gap between tests
hence my original question

then it would appear that the charger is not giving any output
