Put a deposit on a second hand van last night having sold my previous unit couple of years ago. This was too good to pass up.
2014 swift sprite Quattro one owner, family are giving up caravanning so wanted a quick sale.
Negotiated it down to £11000 collect it tomorrow, and taking it to storage.
Looking to site on seasonal pitch from April but exciting times ahead

Congratulations on your new acquisition. Hopefully servicing etc is all up to date before you use it.

Yes will be getting serviced in March/Early April, one good thing it got new tyres earlier this year with proof provided so don’t have that outlay to worry about.
As already mentioned, I ould not be able to wait until the new season, I would just have to take a few nights in it straightaway even if only to cjeck all was good with it.

I think id have to give it a go before next Spring to make sure it all worked.
That’s why it’s getting serviced first Mick, any issues, which I’m Assured there aren’t any (I know I know) then it’ll get sorted then. According to the owners it was used for two weeks a year except for 2020 when it never left the storage. So by my reckoning it’s been used for approx 16 weeks of its life.
Still need to get an awning as they sold that seperately prior to me paying the deposit.
I still have most of my other bits in my garage so no need to buy that
so you intend on getting serviced in march/april before you get around to using it, but what happens if by then any issues with it get worse over the winter? you wont be able to do anything regarding the previous owners. like others have said i would be getting it used asap and certainly before xmas to make sure it is all working as it should be or at least to according to the advert.

Damp is the main issue so best to have it serviced as soon as possible. Also come March / April next year everyone wants their caravan serviced befroe the season starts.

So when was the last service? If its 'current', id be doing a night or two now. If not, id want it doing ASAP, then do a night or two. Leaving everything till Spring is too far away for your own good. Any issues need sorting before you want to use it in earnest. As eluded to: service folks are rammed much after Feb.

Evidence provided of a service at Kirkcaldy caravans in March this year. But I take your point on board. Couple of nights won’t hurt :)
