Our van has been in storage at a site since Aug 22, at the time I thought it was a good idea, especially as there is an adjoining camp site owned by the same people and we could just move it out and then minutes later be on a pitch.
One of the conditions of storage is that the owners need a spare set of keys, we were told that this was in case of alarms going off due to low batteries etc, which I thought was no problem at the time.
However, as time goes on, the owners have really started to annoy me, they have seemingly over subscribed and more often than not, when I go to check the caravan, there is another van parked in front of ours or the caravans either side are so close, you can't open the door.
To make matters worse, the owners occasionally move our van around and I'm guessing that they don't wind the legs up fully as last year, one of the caravan feet was missing, I've just been there today and noticed another one has disappeared (they're milenco stacka feet so aren't being stolen as once they're fitted, they need to be broken to remove, the metal bar is also still through the bottom of the caravan leg).
Last time it happened, I spoke to the owner, who basically didn't give a toss, so am wasting my time mentioning this one, so that's another £10 I have to spend to buy another foot.
Would anyone else put up with that or am I being too picky?
The other issue is that the adjoining camp site has now flooded three times, although the storage site is about 30 - 50cm higher and luckily water hasn't entered the van, although I must admit, I do worry about it when we have heavy downpours, that in mind, I am in contact with another storage site and will hopefully be moving there in a week or so.
Do any other caravan owners have gripes about storage site owners or am I just a bit unlucky?

Doesn't sound at all acceptable to me, and compared to what I currently have (CAMC storage yard attached to a full camp site) appallingly bad!
My storage is laid out in permanently allocated-numbered/marked bays with adequate space between all 'vans/MH's to have reasonable access at all times, and with access lanes that are NEVER used for storage so van can always be moved at will, the site operator does NOT have a set of keys either, so cannot interfere with my van or it's security, they do of course have club membership details and telephone numbers to contact me.
The site is open 365 days a year with no notice of attendance required, and it's protected by electronic tag controlled barriers, visitors are required to log in/out in a register, and there is CCTV.
The site also has a smooth concrete floored 'service bay' with water and EHU to wash and have servicing/repairs done to your vehicle, booked by the hour. They also have a paid for service where they will pitch the van on the associated camp site for you. I also get a discount on my insurance (again with CAMC) as it's classified as a high security storage site (goes a little way to offset the hefty storage fee!)
About the only grumbles are the state of the ground which is all 'soft paths' of not adequately compacted stone which ruts and gathers big muddy puddles at times, the limited access hours that roughly match daylight hours (that can be a PITA if travelling long distances and want an early get away, or getting back to storage yard as absolutely NO access after closing time until next morning!), and of course the substantial fees (but I can easily do worse on those with more expensive storage in the area, and with less facilities!)
I have been asked a couple of times over the years to move pitch, as they juggle the site to accommodate ever larger vans, one of my old pitches is now used by a large van that straddles two back to back pitches, but I was politely 'asked' to move with plenty of notice, no one shifted my van without my knowing!
Terms and conditions for storage sites seem to vary enormously, some are incredibly restrictive with regard to access, worth considering carefully, things like minimum 48 hours notice to access, absolutely NO access during closed winter months (not even periodic checks for water ingress, battery charge etc.!), even CCC yards attached to camp sites that close in winter deny access completely! Storage yards are not exempt from theft, so one that denies access to owners for long periods seems to me to be a higher than average risk of loss or damage in some form, I check on my van every couple of months, and other's are also doing the same, so there are a lot of owners around, which must be a deterrent to thieves, and I can be assured anything wrong is not left unattended for many months.
Since the 'Covid inspired' boom in caravan/MH ownership, storage space has become very hard to find in some areas, with long waiting list to move on to some sites, so I'd secure a new location BEFORE burning bridges with your current site, as bad as it may be! But there are CERTAINLY, at least dependant on your area, potentially better sites out there!
