On handover of my 2018 Swift Freestyle I was told to switch off the master switch for the 12v when putting the van back into storage and was told the solar panel would still charge the battery.
Watching 2 YouTube videos, they both said the master switch should be left on for the solar panel to work.
Our 2017 swift had a solar panel fitted from new and it still charged the leisure battery with the master switch off.( which we always did before putting it back in storage.)

My Bailey has solar panels fitted by Bailey and I was told to switch the master switch off and basically just ignore the panels as they operate in tandem with electric hookup on site or at home and charging whilst towing.
I can confirm the battery continues to be charged and maintained fully charged by the panels with no EHU needed at home at all.
The battery is now 8 years old and still working like new, with long motor mover use being no problem.
