Colin, Millenco now do much larger mirror heads in addition to the 'small/standard' ones if you want them. Should be large enough to satisfy 'commercial' drivers expectations.
Must admit I was a little concerned about the clamps slipping in use when I first started using my Millenco Aero 4s, but 6 years on, goodness knows how many thousands of miles, and never shown any sign of coming adrift, and they have been subjected to a few extra high speed 'experiences' when speed has accidentally crept over 70 mph a few times!
Great thing about the Millenco clamps is, they don't obstruct the standard door mirror at all! I tweak my door mirror position to be a little lower than normal, then I can keep an eye on the caravan wheels on turns to ensure I don't clip kerbs, cones etc. I also have a much wider field of view using both door and towing mirror than I'd get with towing mirror alone. Even still have the ability to electrically adjust door mirrors to view anything necessary such as when manoeuvering.
Can't say that I find much to fault on them with the experience I've had, served me well so far.
Monty, I'm quite satisfied with the ones I have so I can't see a lot of point in changing them now. I'm one of those people who only changes things when what I have is no longer usable.
I use both the car's mirrors and the extension mirrors too in exactly the same way as you do. Gives a good view. I must admit I did have to trim the straps slightly when I first got them though.
------------- Best Regards,
Colin
