I’ve used mine on several occasions and never had any issues. I always double check the covers are done up tight. I was talking to someone who had the same problem as you and the cover for the deflation side was a little bit loose and slowly deflated overnight.

We never had any issues with ours. Have you replaced the valve as that could be faulty?

I bought mine second-hand with claimed only one or two uses. It appeared in very good order, but to be sure, I inflated it to max pressure (but not fitted under a wheel) and left it a few days to check if any obvious punctures/leaks and it didn't deflate at all. I've yet to use it in anger, typical, never been on a sloping pitch since I acquired it 2-3 years back!
They don't seem to be problematic, in fact seem remarkably durable, not sure I've ever heard of a problem with one before! ... and I did a little digging before I purchased mine, just to be sure!
As yours appears to be unused, then the advice on checking caps/valve would seem to be the first thing to do. The good old 'gob of saliva' forming a 'bubble' on the uncapped valve was always a favourite for checking for leaking valves on bike and car tyres! - even if the valve did have a leak, a properly fitted cap should have been a secondary seal.
Worth taking a look inside the caps to make sure the seals are still in place and undamaged, and ensure only the proper silver deflation cap is used on the deflation valve, not an ordinary cap!

Thanks , when you say covers go you mean the star screws either side fixing the chrome plates .
I meant the valve covers.

As a design engineer, I'd look at every OTHER possibility before even considering the clamping bars on the end of the units! Really, the least likely cause, and EVERY good reason to leave well alone!!!!! Any disturbance only likely to CAUSE problems!

Put a bit of pressure in it and hold it under water (in the bath if you have nowhere else)! If it is leaking at the end or punctured anywhere you'll see the little trail of bubbles easily, or alternatively from the valve.
Ours has worked without fault for three years so far.

Hope you get a good few years out of it. They are a useful bit of kit.

Good result. Really surprised at where it was leaking, thing is, with s/h stuff, you never know how it's been tampered with, but may have been faulty from factory, although never heard any similar reports. All academic now, you're good to go.
