Hi
I purchased a 2010 van mid April.
Havnt been able to use untill now.
Unfortunately the van has a lot of faults.
Alot inside does not work.
We viewed the van and was promised all works well.
And upon collection and payment we would be shown everything up and working.
When we went to collect ,man said we had to hurry as another customer was due any minute..
We got given a very quick show of everything but on battery only.
No time to check if water was runing/ hot ,or fridge cold.
A local trader who I did trust.
Now mid July we take van out and nothing works on gas or hook up apart from lights.
And some sockets.
The heater is very fickle and only works from unit not vents.
And after 10 mins the carbon monoxide alarm goes off..
The fridge works when it feels like it on gas but not atall on hook up.
This couldn't be tested on battery anyway.
Or to wait around and see if it gets cold?
Hot water on hook up only not on gas.
Toilet flush doesn't work
Reverse lights don't work.
Twin plugs work intermittently.
I noticed some form of damage to roof back right from my bedroom window after it was pulled forward and hooked onto car.
No ignition on oven.
1 hob doesn't work.
Terrible squeaking in bathroom floor.
Now I know its a 7k older 2010 van.
But really with no hot water or heating and no fridge .
I feel we have just paid 7k for a metal box on wheels.
Unfortunately we didn't get out sooner to test it properly.
But is there anything we can do some 3mns in?
He is a trader, but wrote comes with no Guarantees on invoice.
And sold on behalf of a Mrs someone?
But it's his company invoice and I paid him.
He's quite abrupt and didn't like the fact I rang so far after sale.
And basically said it was all tested before in front of us...
Yes on a leisure battery?
Fridges don't run on those anyway?
Or without water ,you can't test hot water?
I know we should of tested it sooner.
But is there anything we can do please.?
Thank you so much 😊
'But is there anything we can do some 3mns in?

Simple answer is no.
The key bit is "comes with no guarantees"
But is there anything we can do please.?
Yes, find a good mobile engineer.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

If he is a trader there is no such thing as "sold as seen" or buyer beware/ He is bound by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and has responsibilities. To ignore his responsibilities is a criminal act.
See section9, 10 & 11 of the CRA 2015 and also S19 & 20 of CRA 2015. Here is a link to the Act. Consumer Rights Act 2015
Excellent advice from iank01, but you really need to get some legal advice ASAP, either from Citizens' Advice, Which? Legal (you may have to take out temporary membership) or do you have a legal helpline/legal cover with your home/car insurance?
You mention that the invoice states it is "sold on behalf of" -which, sadly, is often a trick used by some less-than-reputable dealers hoping to avoid their Consumer Rights responsibilities.
"Sold on behalf of" by a dealer doesn't really count for much. If you paid your money to the dealer you bought it from him. If he then gives some of that money to a third party that is his affair, not yours.
I bought my 1992 caravan as a trade sale from a dealer with no warranty, but if I'd had any serious problems with it I would have been straight back to him. Fortunately I didn't.
I would get some proper legal advice if I were you.
Hi is this your first caravan if so get and experienced caravaner to go through it with you so that you have a second opinion on the faults. For example reverse lights may not have been wired from the car
