Whilst leaving a very muddy festival site last month, we heard a noise from our caravan but could not stop to see what caused it. When we were eventually able to pullover we discovered that the door had disappeared from the gas bottle locker. We weren’t able to retrieve it, so now need to replace. We’ve tried breakers, no success. We’ve contacted Bailey, no reply. Caravan engineer came today, he advised us to go onto the Prima Leisure website, and put it in our van number so we can find the replacement part. Tried that, no joy. I’ve looked on the Thetford website, I cannot work out what parts we need or if they are the right ones because there don’t appear to be any measurements. I cannot see any way of removing the frame from the Caravan as there are no fixings. This can’t be an unusual occurrence, I can’t understand why it is so difficult to a door! If you can provide any advice or insight, I would be very grateful. For Information the frame is approximate 37 cm high and 33 cm wide. Thank you.

It's the VIN number you have to enter on the Prima site not the van number.

Most caravan locker doors tend to be made by Thetford, click on this link and see what Leisureshopdirect have in stock. Lots of pictures and exploded diagrams to assist you in getting the correct one. They are also very knowlegable and helpful if you want advice.

I had already looked on LSD and as the diagrams had no dimensions did not find it helpful.
As you say though, probably worth a phone call at the least.

Have you asked your insurance to sort it all out at no cost to you? It is damage so should be covered. Even if you need to pay towards the cost it will still save you hunting for parts.

We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
