Having now taken possession of our lovely Bailey Phoenix 640 2020 caravan, there's something we'd appreciate some help with. It's.....the bin situation, or lack of convenient place thereof🤦Not being fans of having to have a bin stuck out in the awning, especially at night, we'd like to be able to fit one on the caravan door. The stumbling block is the really daft little, awkward shaped effort at the bottom of the door not allowing enough space above it, (on the bottom half of the door that is), unless it's removed. Has anybody removed theirs and if so, was it a simple task that didn't damage the door? Any help would be very gratefully received peeps. We REALLY do love this lovely van that a chap in our storage site thought was brand new when we swapped it over last week😄Very happy with it all apart from the bin dilemma😉
Thanks for your reply Marg6, I've seen those on Amazon but where our stupid thing is, it's too low,(right at the bottom of the door), to be able to hang anything on let alone a little 'sensible ' bin. It needs to be completely removed to have any chance of getting anything sensible on there. Don't fancy hanging it on the sink unit door but they do look like lovely little bins👍Have seen quite a few that would fit without the silly thing on there🤦Just hoping that somebody has managed to get theirs off and can tell me how to do it🙏
see for me my prep area has a cupboard door right under it so i plan on putting it on that, as i can see if it was on the door then its just going to get broken off, or worst case is that the plastic on the door gets broken and i know which one is cheaper to fix
We have a 440 - removed the daft 'magazine' bin - it was quite easy but does require a deal of force - a flat non-sharp knife helps. You are left with the holes left previously occupied by the push-in fittings. We sourced a genuine Hartal replacement from Renishaw caravan accessories - https://www.discountawnings.co.uk. Way cheaper than elsewhere and very easy to fit - you will need a willing helper. When I get around to it I'm going to glue some screw caps over the holes. There are cheaper alternatives to the hartal bin available on Amazon and Ebay and also probably from your local accessory store.
Thanks so much for that jaiash, now all I have to do is persuade my reluctant hubby to do the deed and risk it😄 He also pointed out that there will be holes left but I pointed out that some may yet be covered by a suitably sized bin but your idea of popping some little screw caps over them sounds ideal anyway. We've just booked a 3 night stay away to test everything out while it's under the 6 month warranty but I fear MY bin ideas may not have happened before we do that in a weeks time🙄Might borrow our little bathroom bin for that trip that may have to end up in the flippin' awning during the day and popped into the washroom or shower overnight for the evening bits to go in🙄But..... I will NOT give up on getting MY bin😂
