We're just at the end of our 3 nights away trying out our new outfit of the Bailey Phoenix 640 2020 model & Dometic 390 porch awning. Apart from discovering our awning didn't come with the draft skirt, the only other problem we've encountered is with the loo. We can't find anything that shows when it's getting full? Does anybody know where that's likely to be or, indeed, if there is anything please? We'd be very grateful for your help peeps.

There should be an orange light that comes on? At least it does in our Coachman. Have a look at your handbook, or Google it.

Can you see the level in the tank. My Thetford toilet has a warning light when it is getting full but it is just as easy to look and see the level.

We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.

Well hubby's looked through the far from tiny handbook, but he's convinced he hasn't found the answer yet albeit there does appear to be a little bit on the top of the loo next to the button that flushes of that does look like it should be doing ...... something🙅Maybe it's just not showing anything because we haven't used it enough yet🙅We'll do a googly, well..... I will😉 Thanks for answering Mrs Bonce👍

Red light spells danger(song lyrics ) this is in the same area as the push button for the flush.

Thanks for that too John. I did have a look once I'd flushed and it didn't look to be very full. Maybe our mini break aka fault finding mission while it's still got the 6 month warranty on it hasn't been long enough to give it a chance🤷 I'm just aware that we don't want it to overflow for poor hubby to empty😕That did happen once with our old caravan when the indicator had stuck on the green when in fact it was more than fu!l😮Messy😂

Only photo I could find of illuminated light was this one:

Into the 'Too Much Information' sector!!! - My loo typically takes 3-4 days use (just me, no 1s and 2s, and probably the only loo I'll use during my trips, to get 'full'. With the bowl flap open, you can see directly into the tank, and the level of it's contents, that gives you a good idea of how close to 'full' you are. You will get used to the actual level that is 'full' with experience, but it's maybe a couple of inches (50mm) below the flap.

You may of course not want to wait until waste tank is full, it has a 17.5L capacity, plus the weight of the tank itself, it'll weigh around 20Kg or so full, which you may need to carry (dragging on it's wheels over rough terrain may damage wheels/tank!), and may need to lift to around waist height to empty at many camp sites.

The 'full' indicator may of course not actually work! They are known to be a little troublesome! Sometimes they fail to illuminate for a number of corrosion/connection problems with the wiring, sometimes they won't go out after the tank is emptied because the float in the tank has become jammed with 'debris'! Always pays to 'peer down the hole' when you suspect level may be getting full, rather than rely entirely on the warning light!

.... and when emptying the tank, DONT shake too vigorously when rinsing, you can dislodge or jam the internal float that activates the full light! Usually a easy cost free fix, but does involve sticking a hand INSIDE the tank .... and who wants to do that!

Our light doesn’t come on, never has (it’s on my To Do list - that photo above was useful!) Only OH uses the loo, at night & strictly pee only - the toilet fairy can’t cope with anything else. So our loo lasts maybe 2 weeks? (I struggle to remember when I last emptied it.) But it’s easily checked - pull out the canister & see how heavy it is, where its balance is if you tip it a bit. If there’s lots of slosh space, put it back in for another day - but if your flush water runs out, it’s definitely time to empty the canister as the two reservoirs sizes are in proportion.
BTW, black waste canisters come in different sizes - our old Autosleeper Clubman had a huge one, difficult to carry when full. Friends have a big new MH but a tiny canister on wheels that needs emptying far more often.

Well thank you all soooo much peeps, especially you Monty for the piccie👍And all of that user info from both you & Fiona👍I knew I'd always find answers on ukcs🤗I'm typing this in the car as we wend our way home after 3 pleasant but soggy nights at the very nice Lincoln Farm Park in Standlake. And would you believe that our new porch awning DOES have the draft skirt which my daft hubby discovered still sitting in the awning bag as he was packing it all away this morning🤦‍♀️😂😂At least that's an expense we won't have to fork out for😂Thanks again for everyones help peeps & who knows, that mysterious indicator light may appear when we're using the loo more😉

My old coachman had a yellow light on top to indicate it's full. It works on two a battery pack inside the cassette housing. Wierd but it works as long as I change the batteries every season. Has some say it's easier to empty every day. They do get very heavy.

Must admit Shanty, the weight isn't my problem😂😂I'm a registered decrepit unfortunately so it's all down to poor hubby but he's quite pleased that this cassette is smaller than our last one😂😂
