Generally I would suspect damp to be a cause of mould, but this could be a leak or condensation.

It'll be damp of some sort plus lack of ventilation. You may need to replace those 2 pillows, or at least give them a hot wash and dry thoroughly. Make sure your bedding is allowed to air regularly in a warm dry place.

Condensation / moisture plus lack of ventilation to get rid of it to the outside. Our bodies give off moisture overnight, plus cooking etc. Like house walls go black when people don’t put the heating on, dry clothes on a rack & don’t open the windows. Warm air holds more moisture than cold air.
Our pillows live out in the open in the MH during winter when it’s cool. Otherwise, they live under the bench seat that makes into the bed, on top of the blown air heating duct where they get nice & warm & dry before bedtime. Had the same ones since we got the MH, we replace them when they get flat.

Mould spores can attack the human respiratory system. Best is to dump the pillows and replace them.

We did bin them straight away, I think it because I alway make the bed with clean bedding ready for next use ,never had it in all the time I've being going away ,lesson learned pillows will be left on top not under the duvet

After every trip I take out my pillow and duvet and hang them outside to give them a good airing. Also, on nice, dry 'blowing days' I open up the caravan - windows, door and pop-top and let the air blow through the 'van. In winter I never leave the bedding in the caravan.

My electricity is on an 'agile' tariff, so when I know the electricity will be at its cheapest I go out and put the heater on in the caravan. (In the winter, usually, and with a window open a crack)

All this sounds like a lot of faffing about, but it works for me; no mould or fousty smells!

We are lucky enough to be able to keep our caravan at home, so as we know it it not going to be used again until spring we have brought all our bedding indoors. We have also drained down the water and taken the battery off and put it on charge.
