It sounds like a problem with the charger/power supply. I am not familiar with your particular caravan or its electrics, but some caravans have a power supply which works fine on its own and others have a simple battery charger. The latter type will often work as a 12 volt power supply, but they are not really designed for that purpose, and they should have a battery connected. Running a battery charger without a battery in the circuit can cause problems over time, as the battery is used to stabilise the output from the charger. Using that type without a battery can cause the charger to burn out, not instantly, but it can certainly shorten its life. Sounds to me like yours is on its way out.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Just check that the 'kettle' type plug that goes into the charger hasn't worked loose, it's a fairly common problem. It is located inside the big white where all the trips and fuses are. You may have to remove a few screws and even a bracket to gain access and make sure the mains is disconnected before carrying out any work in there. I agree it would be a good idea to have a battery, it helps prevent surges.

My caravan had a battery master fuse. This was an inline fuse in the main positive cable from the battery. Soon after I bought the caravan I suddenly had no power and when I went to check this inline fuse I found corrosion inside the fuseholder. I cut it out and replaced it with a circuit breaker. You may have a similar problem with your main battery fuse.

Colin
