We would get no pleasure from camping in the 'van in the darker colder days. We don't have TV in the van, nor are we 'sitting in the pub' types so couldn't pass pleasant evenings there. We have lots of home based activities that we enjoy in the winter evenings, and go out during the days, me to a lot of voluntary work, OH playing sport.
We don't take a TV with us when we go with the caravan either, deliberately. We probably watch far too much anyway, and when we are away with the caravan we like to get out and about exploring. The caravan is mainly for sleeping in, but if we do get a cold and rainy day we usually sit and read as we both enjoy a good book. We do occasionally go to a pub of an evening but not every night, and we often like to sit in the pub garden and enjoy a meal. Can't do that if it's cold and wet!
