Hi Nick,

We joined the Windrush Club this year when we bought our Windrush. If you go to the site there is a page with the rally dates listed plus the phone numbers of the main committee members. I have spoken to both Gerry Smith and David Reynolds who were very helpful. It's only £15 quid to join and we are going to the AGM rally at Wolston in September. All the members have either owned Cotswolds or still have them and are pretty knowledgable about them. There is a guy who has a business called Arcsystems in Nottinghamshire who is apparently a wonder with water  gas and electrical systems etc. Another couple who have messages on this forum attended their first rally earlier this year and said it was great so we are looking forward to it and to talking to people who know about our caravan. Cotswolds were hand built caravans, very sturdy and made to last. Swift bought the company so you might get some information from them re: windows.

seen it and will keep an eye on it. The windows I have made are holding up so I will get away this year but I feel that the proper windows are needed.

thanks again

Hello,

I don't know if they made a 4 berth Windrush. Another model was the Cotswold Celeste. That may have been a  4 berth. Swift took over the Cotswold company. They made a few more Windrushes or Celestes but stopped within a year. That was approx 1990 so they were really Swift Windrushes lol!

The curved roofline is absolutely no problem for an awning. We had ours up in Alsace last week. Uneventful journey to Eastern France and back.
I have all the documentation for the various parts of my Windrush, a 1983 15/2.
Unfortunately, it might be its last journey abroad for us, as my wife would like a newer van for our retirement! I might be advertising it later in the year. I'll let the group know when the time reluctantly comes.

john b. we inherited an awning with our windrush but it seems the sloped lower front end of the van causes the obvoiusly square awning to sag badly at the front.
i was hoping to get a small porch awning but fear the same sagging problem from the initially high roof line over the door :(

Hello Liam,

I think we have the same Windrush. The best way to know what size awning to use is standard for all caravans. Measure from the ground right round the whole length of your awning rail to the ground on the other side in centimetres, that tells you the size and measure the height. The curvy roofline does pose a bit of a problem getting the awning very straight but we live with it. We have a combi awning which isn't a full awning but is bigger than a porch awning and it fits fine. We also have a lightweight modern awning which does but it's too tall really but we can use it with a bit of fiddling and string lol!

This is our first time with a caravan too its amazing what you learn! We joined the windrush club. They have rallies all over the country. We went to one in september last year in Warwickshire and had a great time. They know loads about Windrushes.
