I am just glad we didn't settle on the Avondale van that we liked when we were after a replacement (new) van. We did like the Avondale caravans but got a crap offer on P/Ex for our old van (from Reads in blackburn) so we bought a compass from campbells with a very good P/Ex. We have had NO probs with the compass van.

hey iam neil and i play badminton with one of the main managers at avondale and there is no danger of them shutting down in fact getting bigger new models look great and now just started planing the 2007 range

Got to admit when the van's gone back to them they have rectified the other problems to a good standard, apart from letting me down and not being at all truthful about the new side.   Off camping, back Sunday pm

\hi im new to the cs forums and have been reading all the comments over the last week or so and came across yours we too have a 4 yr avondale which we are returning to dealersas it was riddled with DAMP  we are changing van for a fleetwood now we heard bad report about them maybe should give up all together is it worth the hassle mags

I have a 1990 Avondale Wren and it is just as brand new. A fabulous little 2 berth just big enough for me and hubby mmmm. So if its rocking dont come knockingxxx.

I had a three year old,2002,Avondale Dart 510/L but decided to change to another make as we were fed up with things falling off it but when the dealer checked the Dart they found damp in it.Although it was right at the end of its warranty the dealer,Glossop Caravans,checked with Avondale and the problem was rectified with no fuss at all.Although we were not happy with the quality the service from Glossop and to be fair from Avondale was without fault.

All dealers have I believe by law to advise you if there is a damp problem. Certainly Lowdham Leisureworld do. If I am interested in a van I just ask for the report on it and they show me no problem. No dealer is going to buy a caravan without checking it thoroughly and if its damp they know it.

 I have a Avondale Kestrel 1992 2 berth, had it 6 years with no problems

 been to Ireland with it twice and going again in June, it,s a good place

 to test a caravan, because some of the roads are not very good, but

 i have had no bits fall off yet, reading this forum it seems as though

 the vans built after 2000 seem to have the problems.

That's good news for me as mine's a 1997. It's going for its annual service this week so I will know soon if it has a damp problem.
