Hi Jo and mark I've just done exactly the same as you and changed from my first caravan (Avondale perle 5 berth) to an adria 502dk wrong side door. I'm absolutely delighted with the new caravan. It's a bit quirky but feels huge and sensible.

Funny this thread appearing again after all this time!

We've had our 2005 Altea 502DK for 3 years now, having previously had tents. We have loved it but are now getting to the position of changing it for a fixed bed caravan. Our door is also on the 'wrong' side (although its the 'right'side for us as its all we've ever known), it willbe strange having a caravan the other way round!

Its good to see that people still want to buy this model for when we are in a position to sell ours. Ours is still in very good condition and we've loved having it.

Hi again, more on my new 502dk> I have a battery already fiited on it. Would love to know if this would be a retro fit as there is no on board water tank. (But a mark where something would have been. Does anyone know how the caravan knows it's gone over to battery as there is no obvious switch inside. Also, when the car is connected via the grey block, or the mains connected, will it charge the on board leisure battery? I have a water pump fitting on the outside front passenger side. Is this a retro fit. My caravan is 2004 with the bubbly white finish (like a tank!)
Sorry for all the questions but one more...Those of you who have a shower hose in the bathroom (I don't)...ais it running a shower from the tiny 5ltr electric water heater?!
thanks for reading...hope you can help

Hi, i'm typing this as hubby is laid in bath! He says:

All Alteas should have a battery fitted as standard as all lights, heater and water pump are run off the 12 v supply.

Sorry he doesn't know about the on-board water tank but our 2005 model doesn't have one.

Battery - as above the battery supplies lights, heater and water pump but not fridge. That will only run on 240v, car or gas. Caravan doesn't know if its gone over to battery.

Grey plug will charge the on-board battery. If there is a battery charger unit fitted (ours has one in the back of the wardrobe, we think fitted as an extra) then obviously it will charge the battery but if it hasn't got a battery charger fitted then it won't. Also don't forget to switch this unit on, as we did, and ran down the battery!)

Water pump - hubby assumes this is a retro fit as ours is in the r/h side of the front locker. This would make sense if it did ,at some point, have an on-board tank. Was the marks from supposed tank in the r/h side bench as we have seen one on a Unica model.

Shower does run from the tiny 5 ltr water heater, but we don't use ours. Also hubby has heard the pump may need uprating to get a decent flow rate.

If you want to discuss further, off forum, hubby's email adress is nigel hollingworth at hotmail dot com (no spaces) and he will try to help.

Thanks very much for the speedy helpful reply. Hope your hubby didn't try to run the bath from the adria water heater tank!
I'll get my head around this lot then get back to you
Thanks again
